My first meal today

March 10th, 2010

I slept very late last night and awoke extremely early today. An ungodly hour of 5:15am! @_@” If only you can imagine how it feels like to be in sleep-walking and subtly hibernating mode for the most part of the day.

The night before ended well with a good crowd of 2000-3000 turned up for the Ceramah Perdana PR.

After tidying myself and some packing and washing, it was already close to 1am. Boohooz.

Woke up at 5:15am to fetch Steven to the airport, he’s flying off to KL for a meeting. Lucky thing they were flying with Firefly and not Air Asia. They managed to check in even tho we arrived there 15 mins late. Thank God for that!

Then at 7am after seeing Steven off, I wandered to Sunshine market for breakfast. I ordered something my late paternal grandpa used to order whenever he brought us out for tea during my very much younger days.

The feeling is not quite the same tho. It must have been the toast, it’s butter-and-sugar toast, and not butter-and-kaya toast. Hehe. Or could it be, I used to share the drink with Grandpa? He would always pour the drink from the cup onto the saucer and lil me would drink from the saucer. That’s how the older generation always managed to find a way of utilizing everything!

I enjoyed the egg and the sudden gust of wind very much. At one point, a voice in my head told me “It’s going to rain, run to the car and grab an umbrella!” then the voice was interrupted by another voice “Oh well, let’s just walk in the rain should it really rain, the car is not that far”.

In the end, it did not rain. Sigh.

Declutter and Simplify

February 22nd, 2010

I have just learnt this two words lately, in a much deeper sense.

I shall start from the beginning. I have never moved house before from my earliest recollections. And my earliest recollections started at the age of 3 years old. Haha. Mum told me we moved from Bayan Baru to our previous house when I was 1 year and 7 months old. No memory whatsoever.

The home that I have stayed in in the past 2 decades + was situated in a flood-proned area. The worst time, the water level actually got up to the waist area, but that was many many years ago, when I was slightly shorter. It actually flood lesser over the last couple of years, then it got worse… 3 times in 2009. Yes, the final time I actually have to clean up the whole place by meself (because the whole family had decided to move to a higher area, and I have decided to stay back because I am so attached to the home and surrounding)!! :Sobs:

The moment came when I finally have to move away, the new owner is coming in! I find it really difficult to pack up my 2 decades of life into boxes (thank God Steven was there to keep me sane!)! It is pretty literal. I have many clutters all over the places. I packed all the things from my room into boxes and moved myself and necessities into the master bedroom when my parents moved away. When the moment came, it was slightly easier to simplify the things I want from the things that I thought I want. The months of separation, have some sort detached any feelings that I have towards most of them. Haha. It’s time to let go and move on. So, I ended up with lesser stuff. I believe by the next time I move again (pretty soon, I believe), I will have even lesser stuff. :D

I am going to declutter and simplify more often now. The zen feeling is much better than having so many STUFFs around. This sentence has stucked to me: The more you move, the lighter you will be! It goes for both weight and belongings!

Live lighter on the Earth and in your life by letting go of the excess baggage, organizing what you do keep, and passing your “stuff” on to others who need or would love them. I might even start to practise the one in two out rule.

Hobby: My latest craze!

February 19th, 2010

I found a new hobby. Due to lack of accessibility to refrigerator over the last couple of months, my craze for making Konnyaku Jelly has cooled down.

I have been thinking real hard, how I even found this latest craze. I think it is after Steven and I got back from Ikea. I learnt the word quilt and started googling for it and there comes my obsession and finally decided to seriously just do it!

I found a tutorial class very near my place! It’s a God sent! Ask and you shall receive! ;D Thank you, dear God. The shop opened the day after I googled for it, literally! Now, you see what I mean? I even managed to go to the opening ceremony of the shop! I believe I am most probably the first student after the shop opened!

;)

Anyway, please see my first project below. Not too sure, if I can keep the interest for long. But I will definitely go for a few more classes and projects before making any hasty decisions… like getting a sewing machine! Hehe. ;D

Yeap, I sewed it for Steven as Valentine’s gift. Hehe. And he is using it! So sweet of him! ;D
