Bali

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

Steven and I together with 3 other friends stormed Bali in April 2008.

It was a very fantastic trip, a must-go for people who love beautiful sandy beaches, breathtaking scenery, cultural temples, fantastic weather, FUN shopping(!), exotic art(!!), happenning night life and tasty food!

Exotic figurines on each side of the door…

Temples

Prayer offering: The majority of Balinese are Hindu, they are very prayerful.

Uluwatu

On the Left:  - Can you hear the waves rushing ashore? Awww… :)

On the Right - The Entrance to the Sacred Temple, nope, we didn’t get to go in :|

Family Day at Mengkuang Dam

Monday, July 21st, 2008

During the Family Day at Mengkuang Dam that I posted earlier here, YB Chong Eng was there with her boys as well. I managed to catch a few interesting, happy, family pictures!

:D

 What a bliss! ;)

More pictures of Youth Day

Sunday, July 20th, 2008

Ahh…  here’s more pictures of Youth Day. I took more than 600++ pictures for the all-day event, have finally found time to sort them out. I also took a few videos, pretty cool, but that will be another story for another time.

:D

Our newly formed E-Youth were there to promote the paintball which we just recently had here and here.

I walked around some 20+ booths and caught some interesting stuff that they have there.

Here’s a Malaysian artist who has gone overseas to develop his artwork and come back with a Netherlander wifey. ;)

Here’s some cup cakes for you! :)

Colourful earrings and interesting ornaments, anyone?

Here’s a chronology of the BMX Stunt Performance! :D

On the right: YB Madam Ong Kok Fooi (Sports and Youth EXCO) officiated the Opening of the Youth Day Carnival, Penang.

On the left: The crowd listening to YB Ong Kok Fooi’s opening speech.

Hip hop dance competition…

YAB Mr. Lim Guan Eng, the Chief Minister of Penang giving the winner of the hip hop dance competition a “Thumbs up!” ;)

YAB Mr. Lim Guan Eng came at 8.30pm for the Closing Ceremony, gave a short speech and gave away souvenirs to all the participants of the day. :)

The most youthful and energetic performance of the day to me is no other than the Chinese Traditional Drums by Jit Sin Independence School! Thumbs up from me, keep up the good work! ;)

                        Before                                                                         After

Earlier that day, as I was walking around shooting the booths, stunts, games and events, I came across the wall-spraying performance and made a mental note to take another picture when it’s done, but better yet, i manage to take the finished artwork with the artists! Talk about conincidence! Here’s the “Before” and “After” Picture for you!

;)

Bukit Mertajam Charity Paintball 6 July 2008

Tuesday, July 8th, 2008

Bukit Mertajam Charity Paintball Challenge organized by E-Youth, a youth NGO of which I am the Secretary, in collaboration with Democratic Action Party, Jalan Tembikai branch.

The participants in groups of fives.

The participants and organizing committees.

The organizing committees :)

Moments before the opening ceremony, Steven gave a welcoming speech and explained the reason we were gathered there that day, not to shoot our opponents because we hated them or because we wanted to win the cool prizes; the reason is much more meaningful and profound. We were there because we cared and loved someone enough to have spent the money and time there that day.

YB Chong Eng officiated the opening of the BM Paintball Charity Challenge 6 July 2008!

I climbed up to the control tower to take some photos, phew… OMG, I didn’t realize how high up it was (!)

Paintball WAR  officially on!

The most loaded !

The fastest !

The youngest !

YB Chong Eng took a shot as well! :D

Finally, after rounds of WAR, the winner prevailed!

The Winners walked away with happy smiles knowing that they have not only won the Paintball Challenge but they have helped 3 needy families in Bukit Mertajam!

Thank you people of Bukit Mertajam! ;)
