Food: Fruits & Jelly

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

Right after I close the lid of the soup, I proceeded to prepare some Konnyaku Jelly. These 3 packs of fruits were great bargain! More than enough to make Konnyaku and they cost less than 1/3 of what I normally spend on fruits for the Konnyaku, and best of all, they tasted real Sweet!

:D

Leftover fruits for my snacks… it’s Mine… All MINE!

Food: Herbal soup with Carrots and Radish

Monday, June 8th, 2009

Today is a replacement leave for me. It is superbly fun not having to work on a Monday!

After lunch with the Boy at 7 Village, we went to do a bit of shopping at Jusco Bandar Perda, primarily to get some ingredients for soup and Konnyaku jelly. Hehe… oh ya, and also for marmite.

He got ecstatic seeing this!

Off to work… I mean cook, ermm… I mean play… Hahaha…

First prepare a pot of water to boil, then wash the herbs and throw in.

Herbs

1. Wai san

2. Red dates

3. Kei Qi

4. Tong sum

5. Some ginseng roots

6. Yoke Chok

Then, start to cut the Carrots and Local Radish. Once done throw the carrots in. Keep the radish aside.

Skin the meat and throw in once the water boils.

Once the water boils again, throw in the radish.

Close the lid and let it brew for 2 hours.

Tada!

:D

Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009

The weather is crazy these days, and it’s always good to pamper your loved ones and your good self with some homemade thong sui every once in a while.

This thong sui is really nice, whether taken hot, warm or cold.

:)

The ingredients as below. The sequence to throw the ingredients into the pot as numbered. After ingredients 1 - 5 are in the pot, keep boil in slow fire for about one hour before throwing in 6-7.

Then Voila! :D

Food: Konnyaku Jelly Obsession

Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009

I was obsessed with Konnyaku Jelly the last week. I was pretty stressed up at work and I found peace in making Konnyaku Jelly, buying the ingredients and finding cute little jelly moulds.

With these cute jelly moulds, how could I not experiment with new flavours and ingredients?

Yeah, it was all so fun, the process of making Konnyaku has kept me sane the last weeks. Thank God for this new found hobby. :)

Btw, Konnyaku is super high in fiber and it’s a super healthy dessert.
